We officially have cabin fever. The whole family is sick of being cooped up at the house. Unfortunately, the weather is still not nice enough for many outdoor activities, so we headed to a movie instead. After seeing The Lightning Thief, we all wanted to read the book, so we headed over to Barnes and Noble and were soon snuggled in chairs with novels and tasty beverages.
As you can see from the kids' expressions, the novel was VERY different from the book, as we had been told. But having seen the movie first, we were less offended. In the end, we all decided we liked the book better, but we liked the movie too. As long as you don't expect them to actually tell the same story, no reason not to enjoy both!
Of course, some of us are bigger nerds than others. Apparently, Kairi can't go anywhere without running into friends, so she was accosted several times for hugs and squeals. She's just too popular for our family!
